Buick 1967 Riviera GS 84243 Reluctantly up for sale is one 1967 Buick Riviera GS. 42,799 Rivieras were produced in '67, of these only 4,837 were the GS option package. This particular one has been modified, has a very solid body, runs great, but needs some attention, particularly on the paint and interior. It has 84,243 miles on the body. It does not have its original 430 engine or transmission. It has a 1971 455 from an Electra. Motor has 60,000 original miles on it and a TCI Streetfighter TH400. Issues: Black paint plus Virginia sun equals lots of peeling clear coat. Since moving to Ohio the car has lived in the garage, but the damage to the paint was already done. The hood and trunk look the worst. The sides actually still look good. It has assorted dings and scratches and very small dents. There is only one rust spot where bubbles are showing on the right quarter. (took a pic) It was repainted in its current black form in 1996. It needs a good repainting. The body is very straight and solid. It is an old car that has sat more than I wish it had. as such it has the types of issues you would expect, minor leaks, brakes work but need redone, belt squeak when first started, ect. Headlight do move up and down but currently do so via a toggle switch rather than automatically when you turn on the lights. I believe it is a relay that needs replaced somewhere. These cars have lots of relays. Worst part on the entire car is the interior. Car has no headliner. all seats need recovered. Interior was changed from tan to black. front seats just have covers on them. seat belts are still tan. trunk felt needs replaced. spare tire cover needs replaced. Summary: This is a rare car. It is very solid and straight. It needs alot of little stuff but runs great, is fast, and very unique. Has a host of great performance parts. Most days it will chirp all 3 gears.
